Today while I was visiting friends in the simpsons tapped out game, the game suddenly shut down and I was at my home screen, this has happened before but I normally sucessfully log back in to the game and continue doing what i'm doing. But today whenever I would click the tapped out icon it would say... can't connnect to server or something , retry.
So ok i clicked retry it toook me to the log in screen on the bottom left was my origin ID : Ythaider484 lvl 15
so I click log in and it shows me that clip that you see in the beginning of the game with homer working at the power plant, springfield exploding and etc. And after that I enter the game and I see my springfield gone and it is replaced with a tiny patch of land and lots of trash, and homers like"anybody here?"
so I exit the app log out re-login .... same thing
plz let me know how can i re-login to my tapped out with my saved progress without losing anything ( I have some pretty limited time stuff from stone cutters and mystery boxes)

Just FYI, in Android you can long press the icon, kill the process then when it restarts you get the option on the bottom left to login again.

This is what worked for me:
I've only had to reinstall once recently (I took 2 years off). Doing the above has fixed the problem for me on all 4 of the devices I use except for one occasion, and I didn't think about resetting our home internet before I re-installed the game.
I have read that it is possible to delete just the core game while retaining the game files, which are the bulk of the download.
Here's the relevant info for Apple devices. Android should work similarly if it holds true. I haven't tried this myself:
4. Open Settings.
5. Tap General->iPad Storage.
6. Locate Tapped Out and touch it.
7. Touch "Delete App" to remove the app from your device.
8. Reinstall from the App Store.
9. Launch the app and login as you normally would.
