Very frustrating indeed especially while EA is giving us the run-around and the usual hot air which appears to be normal business attitude in the IT world nowadays. You simply cannot believe them anymore that they are really trying to solve the problem. It's 5 or so days now that the problems started and still no solution and a deafening silence from EA. Very nice customer support EA, you can congratulate yourself.
On the bright side, it appears that the game works, I mean does not crash, when you send the characters out for the babies event tasks 😀 it starts crashing when you try to do the regular tasks. Very strange but at least you may be able to finish the Babies tasks after all. As soon as the game starts do the babies tasks first before the crashing starts, perhaps close the game after that and reopen, to make sure the game has saved correctly.
