Town Plaza Glitch took my donuts

Concerning upgrading the Town Plaza. I waited until Act 2 to continue onto level 6. It had a blue 'DONE' icon next to it. But when I pressed it donuts were taken away. I'm down to 1 donut and had excess of 120. Anyway to get these back?
