THOH 2018 Can't dig relics

I'm on the step where you place the old ruins and get 10 pickaxes to dig for the relic. Some reason I can not dig to find the relic. I press the spot I want to dig and nothing happens. Anyone know how to get around this or if this is a known bug?

I have had this happen also. Try going to friend screen and back or choose another block then the one you wanted. I hope this works for you.

Nope, this never worked. I tried switching from the galaxy s6 to an iPad and this never worked either. EA said to keep checking for updates to the game. Well thanks for your reply.
