Simpson’s tapped out decieve golden token

in the Simpson’s tapped out I was given a chat window telling me that I have received a golden token and I should use it on a golden mystery box. However when I went to the store to claim my mystery box the game told me I had no golden token. Need help.

Did it tell you that you had no golden token or nothing in the golden box?

There is a difference, if you have everything in in the golden box it will be empty and you have to spend your token on a box of donuts

You can choose the donuts over the golden box even if the box is not empty, did you perhaps do that? That would also explain a "missing" token
