Please note that if you do not have Springfield Heights and specifically Heights Theater, you can NOT do Act 2, Sidekick Aside

The event is for level 12+ players, Springfield Heights unlocks at level 30

Hopefully, EA will remove the location for earning Sunglasses (event currency) soon, so all level 12+ players can do the event, error message in spoiler

EDIT As of August 25th, 2020, 06.00 CEST /12AM EDT (possible earlier) an in game update pushed through, changing the location for getting sunglasses to the Elementary school

How is it not recording?

Are you able to do the task?

Do you wait for the sunglasses to go up or tap them as they float up or do you close the game before they are collected?

If they are not counted correctly, contact support

I can't start quest to collect sunglasses from 3D movie bins... I tried to found sone help online. There is information that i have to had theatre, or in case of not having it I can use brown house. But I can't start collecting with no character. Please help, how can I finish this quest...?

@minicha-em I don't get it. I am level 109... I am playing all the time... But I dont have Heights Theatre... Is here any way to get it right now? Thanks

From level 30 you can start Springfield Heights

Start with the Furniture Shop

Earn enough resources to unlock the land for the Coffee Shop

Unlock more space in the Furniture so you can build the Coffee shop

Earn enough resources to unlock the land for the LA Body Works

Unlock more space in the Furniture and Coffee shop so you can build the LA Body

Earn enough resources to unlock the land for the Institute of Technology

Unlock more space in the Furniture, Coffee, LA Body so you can build the Institute of Technology

From now on you'll need resources to craft more resources

Earn enough resources to unlock the land for the John's Pharma

Unlock more space in the Furniture, Coffee, LA Body, Institute of Technology so you can build the John's Pharma

Earn enough resources to unlock the land for the Heights Theater

Unlock more space in the Furniture, Coffee, LA Body, Institute of Technology and John's Pharmacuticles so you can build the Heights Theater

You can now earn sunglasses for the Van Houten event

It shouldn't take more than two weeks of non-stop grinding

This is old and not updated but you'll get an idea of what it takes How to unlock more storage and get more buildings in SH 

TL;DR

It may be possible but it will take time and effort

I'm running a testing game to try to figure out some stuff (like if there's some trick to get Sideshow Bob on Android).  It only took me a few days to unlock the Heights Theater.  I had to chisel out some 4 hour blocks of time to sit there and send the characters to the buildings over and over.  If I had already unlocked all the characters needed to to the Heights jobs it would have taken me less time, but I was crippled by the lack of the full cadre of characters to send to the jobs.  And if I'd had the Premium characters... That really makes it go faster.

Oh, and you don't have to build any of the buildings.  You just have to unlock the land they're sitting on.

You no longer need Heights Theater to collect sunglasses

In game update just pushed through, they will use the Elementary school

Better late than never I suppose, still got 5 days until Act 3 starts the 30th of August 2020, 1700 CEST / 11AM EDT
