How do I remove inactive friends?

I play simpsons tapped out on my iPhone and I have added a lot of friends but a majority of them haven’t got any buildings to tap because they don’t play. This takes up a lot of my time going through each town trying to find active players. 

Is it even possible to remove them?

@Frostbittenbunni go to the neighbors area by clicking on the Bart & Milhouse icon, then click on the handshake icon; you will see the list of your neighbors. By clicking on each of them you will see their badge, indicating the time elapsed since they last played and the "REMOVE FRIEND ON ORIGIN" button

Just a note:  The time since last played includes ALL Origin games, not just the Simpsons.

Also: there are several glitches that break the ability to tap things in neighboring towns.  Most prominently the Gingerbread Couch Gag - if the Gingerbread Simpsons are present on the Gingerbread Couch you cannot tap things in that neighbor's town.  There's nothing you can do about it - the problem is on their end.
