Cold War Blues Pt 2 Event Stuck

Game play is stuck on the Springfielders Ignore Military Service. When I click to complete my characters, they go right back to restarting the mission. Cannot click the character in the upper left corner with the Complete checkmark on him. Cannot play any other missions now.

@billmather The fastest way to resolve this is to store the building where they are stuck, temporarily placing it in the inventory. As soon as you release everyone, you can put it back in its place!
Sometimes it happens that the building is not storable (for example the Simpson house); in that case we solve the problem, interrupting the loop, freeing at least 1 of the characters. Free one, free all! How will we do it? Simply by storing a building or decoration linked to one of the blocked characters (for example the Bar for MOE and Marge, the tree with the little house for Bart, etc ..). Storing this building / decoration will ensure that the character is too and the loop will be interrupted!
