VOIP is not working for me completely for some reason.

I have discord setup nicely and it works fine and voip in other steam games work fine but in battlefield v i can only hear my in game voip squad mates but not communicate

Everything is set to ON

Everything is default

Input and Output is same as Discord Input and Output

I can hear my teammates in game but cannot transmit VOIP

Any ideas what is wrong with my setup?

Am on PC

Location Australia

First time experiencing VOIP problems all other games work fine.

TL;DR can hear VOIP from squad but not communicate

thanks I got it to work by right clicking on windows my sound icon and selecting sounds then going to recordings and selecting the right microphone input as default device.. now my origin works perfectly.. it wasn't a keybind problem as I originally thought but a default device option as I think it was selecting another input for the mic which was the default which was an inactive / not working input

@51st_AlienC I would try and rebind the key you have set for voice chat and if it fails another thing to look at would be the cfg file for settings. And make sure this is off in origin...

Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
Origin, settings, General


C:\Users\your PC Name\Documents\Battlefield V

BFV folder in my documents holds game configs and screen shots even if BFV is installed on different drive. When you uninstall BFV it does NOT remove this folder. So when you install the game again you can still have the same issues. Even if its not a new install it is still worth trying as the game cfg could be mucked up.

1- Go to my Documents and remove BFV folder place it on your Desktop for now.
2- Be warned you do have to set up your in game settings again.
3-Run Repair BFV- Right mouse click over BFV in origin and pick repair game.
4- When done go test your game. If it fails reboot your PC and run repair game again and test BFV.

Microphone not working:

To solve this, in Windows 10 64 bits, go to:

- Windows Settings
- Privacy
- Microphone
- Under "Alow apps to access your microphone" swtich to "On"

This has solved my problem that the microphone does not working in BFV
