I have also tried everything in this list and have confirmed that everything is updated and have all the right specs. But EA app just disappears like the game is gonna launch and then it just pops back up. no error log or anything. This seems to be what I am seeing everywhere.

@ekollof I have had similar issues. I have done everything short of resetting my entire PC. This is definitely an issue on EA's side. I have posted in a few chats and they keep giving the same "fixes" for everything and nothing changes it. fingers crossed its a fluke.. and it will be fixed soon but highly doubtful

I am having the exact same issue, I even wiped the pc and reinstalled windows and still having the same problem

@ekollof Same issue here, I have 7900XTX on 5950X, exactly the same issue. Tried many times of repair, reinstall... This game is getting hopeless!

First - check system requirements.

 

Try these steps:
- disable any vpn/proxy
- run cmd with Admin rights
- enter commands (copy-paste it):

ECHO Y | CHKDSK C: /F /X
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /spsuperseded /hidesp
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

- wait for the end and restart the PC

 

 

- disable any vpn/proxy
- run cmd with Admin rights
- enter a command:

SFC /SCANNOW

- wait for the end and restart the PC

 

- install this with Admin rights:
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

- disable any vpn/proxy
- disable any screen capture, Internet video/audio capture software for testing
- disable any RGB hardware lightning software for testing
- try to launch the game

 


If these steps do not help try next:
- Disable "controlled folder access"
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/allow-an-app-to-access-controlled-folders-b5b6627a-b008-...
- If u have OneDrive software installed - disable it, if u do not use it - uninstall it.
- try to launch the game


If it did not help give me a _report_.txt file: in the command prompt (cmd) running with Admin rights enter commands then attach to a message _report_.txt file from the root folder of С:\ drive, then delete this file

Msinfo32 /report "C:\%COMPUTERNAME%_report_%date%.txt"

Also, try to find some games error/dump files in this dir and attach them too:

"C:\Users\<Your OS user name>\AppData\Local\SwGame"
"C:\Users\<Your OS user name>\Saved Games\Respawn\JediSurvivor"
"<Steam_folder>\steamapps\compatdata\1774580"

@lesviva I managed to get the game to run...

Under Linux with standalone proton/wine. Installed the EA app with proton and launched the game from there. There are performance issues, but at least I can play it.

Under Windows it still won't even launch.

Certainly not a supported solution, but if you dual boot anyway, it's worth a try.

Please be careful though, there's Denuvo DRM active that will limit the amount of installs and could lock you out of the game. Your mileage wil vary.

@MADrag0n Thanks for the help, this got the game to actually launch now for me, only had to do the first half up to trying to launch the game the first time and i'm in.
