the sims 3 will not load

Yesterday, I was playing the Sims 3, saved it, and closed it like normal. Today when I got back on, Windows told me Origin was not responding, so I restarted my computer. I tried to open the Sims 3 after this (I have it pinned on my taskbar) and it will not open, no matter how many times I click it. I tried to open it via Origin, and the play button was unavailable. What do I do?

@miinuet  It looks like your post was moved from somewhere else, so I'm sorry you didn't get a response sooner.

The first thing to try is clearing Origin's cache.  If that doesn't help, you can uninstall Origin "the hard way" and reinstall.

You may also need to delete the shortcut in your taskbar and create a new one.  And you can try repairing TS3 in Origin as well.  This only repairs the connection between the game and Origin, not TS3's program files, but it may help in this case.  To see the option, right-click on the TS3 icon in your game library, and select Repair.
