fifa 24 crossplay ps5 ps4

As the title suggests, my friend has a PS5 with FC24 Standard Edition installed that comes with EA play membership.

I have a PS5 with FC24 SE installed.

We are trying to play online but get error:  This player's platform is not compatible with your platform

Can somebody please help get around this?
