Why cant i log onto my origin on my desktop?

I can't seem to log onto my origin on my desktop, everything is up to date but it just keeps telling me I have to be logged on online to log in the first time, but when I log in at origin.com it still doesn't work? How can I download my game if I cant get to my origin laptop
