I'm having the same problem. Origin Apex loads and plays perfectly but steam gets stuck on the "infinite continue screen" exactly like you described. The game is unplayable on steam for me

Yeah same problem here , i tried many things but still I cant play apex on steam. This is some serious bug. Respawn should fix this.

I tried with different steam and EA ID and the game is working perfectly. I think there is some bug with IDs.

I just did exactly what you said you did as well and I am having the same issue. I am still trying to find a solution and if I do I will let y'all know
