Stuck on role player status

I’m a 6’7 wing scorer. I was drafted by Phoenix 1st overall and demanded a trade to the Mavericks. I’ve played about 5 games and I’m still at role player status avg 34 points and 13 assist can anyone let me know how long does it take to become a starter? And is this a bug or glitch
