Steam friends not showing up despite linking steam and origin accounts

I have a steam account that is linked with origin; however when I'm inside of any ea games, I do not show any steam friends or folders anywhere. I have contacted EA and they said my issue was with steam.  I contacted Steam and they said my issue was with EA.  Then EA said its a glitch see if it resets later.  That was a few weeks ago.  It's really irritating not being able to launch from steam and be able to invite both steam and origin players.  Anyone else having issues?

You have to go to steam and check if your friend list is public or private, it has to be public.

You have to go to steam and check if your friend list is public or private, it has to be public.
