Steam/Origin crossplay issue [ Edited ]

Hi!
Looking for a fix. I have Apex installed from Origin shop, my friends have it from Steam. We cannot find each others accounts and invite each other to lobbies. Any ideas?

@ButIsHeReallymake a steam account and install apex there, start the game. Once started, link your steam account to your ea account. It should work now!

Have you checked you guys both your privacy settings?

Go to EA.com and log in, go to your account information and check the following information.
Check all checkmarks to make sure that's not the issue.

@Ferominat0r I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I don't think so.

@Zeelmaekers Yes, we have checked all the boxes as well as the one that makes our profiles visible to strangers as well. Still doesn't work. We also have crossplay invites on "display" in game. I'm out of ideas.

@Rotblut Well I had a steam version of Apex on my pc for a while too, my accounts are said to be linked. I'll try that again though, maybe it helps if both versions of the game are on the pc at the same time.

@EA_Atic I am unable to find users using their steam username, I can only see Origin accounts and add them to friends and lobbies to play together.
