SWTOR crashing on startup and repair not working [ Edited ]

Hello,

I played the game before with no problems, however, recently I cannot launch the game anymore, as it crashes whenever I click "play". The problem is I cannot use the "repair" option, as the launcher takes forever to complete it only to give me a connection error (208) afterwards. Error message: 2020-08-09 17:18:09 ERROR Patch manifest state error in retailclient_swtor: DownloadFail (8) (e208).

A bit of info:

Platform: Steam-PC

Status: Subscribed (but only if this gets sorted out soon, as I won't pay for not being able to play)

I already tried:

- Flushing dns

- Downloading the file witth the error manually (no problem)

- Pinging the site (no problem)

- Restarting my pc several times

- Using the repair option several times on 10 different days
- Starting the game from the .exe file (does not work)

208 is a communication error so can be antivirus/firewall caused

@proxos666 Thanks, issue is solved. However I had to re-install to fix the repair option. Problem with closing of game still persisted so I edited the file (which was a little different). If anyone viewing this thread has the same problem and doesn't find the files they need to edit, just bump the thread or something
