SWTOR freezes my computer with a loud buzzing noise. The only way to stop it is a hard reset/power off. This has been going on for years actually. I have an ASUS gaming computer. I am enclosing my dxdiag to see if it offers any clues. I have tried all of them to no avail thus far, including the in-game settings like anttiliasing , turning grass to zero etc. At a loss. The only option is to quit for good if I can't figure it out, which would be a shame. I am a Founder. Trouble started around the Windows 8 era.

Just to clarify this issue started on this system under windows 8 and persists under windows 10 ?
My first thought on freeze with loud buzzing noise , is a heat induced crash what are the temps getting too just before the crash for cpu and gpu.

Correct. That was even a different computer. large case with a dual fan gpu. My current rig is an ASUS gaming pc, that is closed and somewhat small, barely mid size, with the graphics card power supply outside of the case. It runs a Nvidia Geoforce 750. SWTOR is the ONLY game that I have ever had crash like this. I played Conan, Warhammer online, LOTRO, EVE Online, and still play WOW. Never a crash problem. Is SWTOR prone to heat crashing? As to my thermals, how do I tell?

Swtor can bring out flaws in cooling it makes a good stress test for a system

Your original dxdiag shows crashes is in wow , chrome , excavator and eve
Now between the time done on the first dxdiag and the new dxdiag, new crashes are listed in
Amazon music and swtor but there are no definable causes listed.
You can see these crashes by pressing the windows key and typing reliability and opening the reliability history

I also uploaded CPUID from your link. My system is running hot. I really cant manually adjust my fan settings. The "Aegis" interface is *, it is the only 'control' that I do have. I still cant find the SWTOR episode today. I will run SWTOR again until it crashes then look at the reliability history again.

Your better off looking at the temps while playing swtor
Go to fullscreen and enable vsych then switch to window mode so you can monitor temps
When you say hot at idle what is it getting to ? your CPU temps need to be under 70c ideally under full load.
