[SOLVED] Crashing on startup (right after intro video) - no error message

SOLVED!

 

The crashing has nothing to do with Apex, it's the Origin game client.  A reinstall of Origin fixed everything, all the other fixes do nothing.

 

EA seriously needs to fix their launcher, it has nothing to do with Apex!

I cannot even load the game (or get into the main menu), as soon as the game starts to load it immediately crashes to desktop, with no error message or anything else.

 

There were no problems playing the game 13 hours ago, but suddenly it just cannot load. There have been no hardware or software changes until I started trying to solve this, and even going back various system restore points throughout the past week - none of them allow the game to load.

 

I've:

-Reinstalled the GPU drivers (from a complete clean  install)

-Reinstalled the game (again from a clean install)

-Tried lowering the graphic settings (through the Geforce app)

-Run troubleshooting capability

-Repaired the game in Origin

-Switched from full screen to windowed mode or borderless

-Closed and disabled all overlay programs (including origin and geforce)

-Clean boot

-Rolled back GP drivers to 417.71 (the stable drivers) and also tried 419,17 (released yesterday)

-Diabled G-Sync

-Adjusted ambient occlusion

-Downclocked GPU

-Set power/windows settings to max

-Reduced texture streaming and VRAM

-Reinstalled game on my main harddrive

-Added windows defender exceptions

-Chosen the right sound playback

-Reinstalled easy anti-cheat and given it admin permissions

-Given the game admin permissions and also tried compatibility/boot options

-Ensures origin, game and pagefile on the same drive

-Capped framerate, change window options

-Cleared all temporary files

-Disabled the Windows gamer optimisation

 

Nothing works. I tried tech support but I couldn't even get in the queue.

Furthermore I can play anything else no problem.

 

What else can I do? There is no error log to even refer to to look further into this myself...

 

 

System:

Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 17134)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6850K CPU @ 3.60GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.6GHz

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080

RAM: 32768MB

Glad you were able to get it fixed by reinstalling the Origin client. Good luck in Kings Canyon!

For anyone else that is experiencing this we recommend deleting the Origin client completely from your PC and then re-download the latest version here: https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/store/download
