I'm having a major problem! I just got a new computer, aswell as a new monitor. Now, I install the launcher, it updates completely, but the problem is it fades to black and the resolution is too high and my screen just says "Resolution Not Optimal" or something. I have to Alt+F4 out. Now, if I try to restart the computer, before pressing it, the whole screen is changed and it won't work so I have to enter Safe Mode and use a system restore.
Seriously, is there a way to change the game's options or, at least, the resolution outside of it? To do so before I can start the game so it's actually playable and doesn't mess with my system, please?!
Please help me!

Can also try going to
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\BioWare\Star Wars-The Old Republic\swtor\retailclient
edit the client_defaults file change
FullScreen=true
to
FullScreen=false
save and retry
Edit - if swapping monitors is an option to start the game initially this will likely help as well.

Try pressing ALT + Enter keys initially when like that, then redo ingame gfx settings
otherwise edit the client_settings file per here

I've tried the client_settings file. As I've yet to actually properly start the game on my computer, the file is nonexistent. And how would Alt+Enter help? I'm still unfamiliar with key shortcuts... Sorry.

Alt + Enter simply changes between fullscreen and window modes and when pushed back to window mode overrides most resolution issues
Which then allows them to be corrected
