Problem redeeming code

I have The Sims 2 and recently it broke.

I entered the code in order to redeem it but it said that the code was invalid.

I double checked and there seemed to be no problem with the code.

I have taken photographic evidence with a sign saying 'EA REDEEMING CODE ISSUE' to prove I did not find this picture on the internet. You can view it on Tinypic by clicking the link below :

I apologise for my handwriting not being so neat but ,fortunately, you should be able to read it.

Please help me overcome this issue.

I've solved this.

Anyone who may have this problem, the answer might be this:

Since The Sims 2 was made before 2009,

you have to redeem here : https://activate.ea.com/activategame.do

Hope this helps anyone with this problem in the future.
