Plants vs Zombies Battle For Neighborville System Requirements

[ Edited ]

So yesterday, after hearing about the news recently, I decided I wanted to buy and play Battle For Neighborville. So I spent my 30 dollars, and decided to do some homework while the game was downloading. As I finished my stuff, the game finished downloading as well, and I was ecstatic to get into it since I was a huge PVZ fan since I was younger. And then disaster struck. The window for the game's loading bar with the EasyAntiCheat came up, and after it finished loading, the window would close and the origin launcher would pop back up on screen, with the Play button no longer greyed and clickable again as if I never pressed play in the first place. So at first I just thought it was just a one time thing, but I clicked play again, and the same thing happened. So I kept pressing play and watching the window load, close, have to go back to origin to click play again, and have the cycle repeat over and over for 30mins. After that, I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, cleared the origin cache, updated my GPU drivers, repaired the game, checked numerous times for any updates, restarted my computer a lot, and nothing worked. Everytime I try to play the game all that happens is the EasyAntiCheat window for the game pops up, finishes loading, then doesnt open anything, closes, and when i check the origin launcher, the Play button can once again be clicked, and if I try clicking it any number of times, it still doesnt open anything and repeats the same cycle I explained earlier. Am I the only one experiencing this issue? Do any of you know a fix for this?

You're very welcome, thanks for the DxDiag.

I ran a Benchmark, comparing your CPU to that of the Minimum Specs for Battle for Neighborville, and it looks like the one you currently have does not match up with the Minimum Requirements:

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Phenom-II-X4-965-vs-AMD-FX-4350/606vs2880

The System Specs are here: https://www.ea.com/games/plants-vs-zombies/plants-vs-zombies-battle-for-neighborville/buy/pc-system-...

Hey @DJAstro58

Sorry to hear about this.

Can you try these steps?

1. Close any Background Apps: https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/programs-that-may-cause-conflicts-with-origin/

2. DIsable your Anti-Virus, and make sure Battle For Neighborville has access with your Firewall

3. If you're using an Nvidia GPU, try disabling Scaling in the Nvidia Control Panel

4. Make sure your Drivers are up to date: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/driverResults.aspx/151275/en-us

5. Create a new Temporary Windows User Account, and see if you're able to launch the game under that Account

6. Run Origin and Plants vs Zombies as Administrator

7. Clean Boot: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/how-to-clean-boot-your-pc/

Let us know if this works for you.

Thanks Standard smile

Hey @iluminatethesky

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm sad to inform you that I still have the same issue even though I tried all your steps (except 3 and 4 as I have no Nvidia products in my computer). I dont know if it helps or not, but yesterday whilst waiting for a response, I reinstalled Garden Warfare 2, and when I launched it there was no problem in getting into the game, which just makes me wonder if it's an issue with Battle For Neighborville itself (since it hasnt fully released yet). My origin library only consists of GW2 and Battle for Neighborville. Do you have anymore suggestions for me, or is there anything I could provide you with to help you get more of an understanding of the situation?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear those steps didn't work out for you.

Are you currently running the latest version of Windows, Update 1903?

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4505057/windows-10-update-kb4505057

You can also try disabling your Anti-Virus.

Yes, while i was updating my drivers, I got the latest windows update for my PC as well. And as for my Antivirus, it has already been disabled as it was one of the first things I tried doing to fix the problem. Any other suggestions? And do you know if this seems to just be a problem with the game and not something wrong with my computer?

Thanks again

I don't believe it's an issue with the game.

I play on PC as well, and haven't had any issues launching it recently.

Do you mind posting a DxDiag, so we can take a look?

Oh, I didn't even see that they had a page for requirements, my bad Disappointed. Is this the reason as to why my game just won't even let me open it? I ask because i have multiple games where my PC doesn't meet minimum requirements, but I can usually open them up and play them and have a steady FPS. I guess i'm just surprised that because of my CPU, the game refuses to open. Is this the final verdict to my problem, or is there anything else?

Thank you once again

No worries.

The steps that I've provided, are the only ones that I know of at the moment. Generally, at least one of them works.

If you'd like to see if there's anything else you can do that I might have missed out on, you can contact Support via Live Chat to see if they're able to assist you.

Feel free to keep me posted here as well, if anything changes.
