Password for patchmanifest missing

Hello Guys,

I have a very tricky problem with SW:TOR. installed the free version from the website, but the game required a certain certificate. Following this tutorial https://www.reddit.com/r/swtor/comments/6qyz4v/certificate_authentication_failure/ I added the line  "skip_self_patch": "true"  to the launcher.settings file and replaced the files in the Star Wars - The Old Republic folder with the ones from the 2014 patcher (link in the reddit post). After that, I had to disable BitRaider because it blocked the Initialization. (Following https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VSExphdE9U). Then I had the problem that the launcher said "Problem retrieving patch data. (206)". Looking into the logs, I found this:

I then downloaded the file and tried to unzip it, this result:

So, the 2014 launcher needs a password and the 2017 launcher needs a certificate and I can´ get any of them for the files.

If someone has an idea how to fix this, please tell me.

It has to be the staging version see my edit below

Status:	RESOLVED FIXED

No workaround required as that maybe causing issues

If your OS is windows XP or Vista they are no longer supported - see this link even with this support ends Oct 17 which is now.

There is no password for patchmanifest the issue is the windows certificates being invalid on XP and Vista now

Edit - If you are not using XP or Vista but WIn 7 or up then usual cause of certificate error is the date and time are wrong on the system (generally the year).

first, thanks for the reply.

second, I can confirm the date on my PC is correct.

third, I am using neiter Vista nor Win 7, but trying to run the game with wine on a Linux system. Considering this, is there any chance I can still get it working?

Yes it is a current known issue with wine , I believe it has been fixed in one of the wine staging releases

Believe 2.14 staging at this link holds the required fix

Anyway, this specific issue should be fixed in Wine Staging 2.14.

Since this specific bug affected only Wine Staging versions, I'm moving it to the Staging category and will mark it as FIXED.

I am pretty sure I´m using the latest version of wine-staging and that is currently 2.18 and not 2.14. Eitherway, thanks for your reply.

I´m sorry, but I completely forgot that I am using Wine-devel, not staging. :/

Didn't think devel had the issue, and was only staged affected, anyways way outside my lane of arcs, best is to post at bugs.winehq.org me thinks, they certainly can provide better help then I can on Wine
