Xbox one controller on PC causes game to freeze. The controller has the latest update installed. Whenever I disconnect the controller and go back to my keyboard and mouse the problem goes away. I tried connecting it via USB and Bluetooth adapter, same issue. I didn't face any problems with any other game.
Please help.

I see, thanks. Did you try the driver reinstall?
If this is ineffective can you restart your system with a Clean Boot, then just launch the game?

Didn't work. The only gaming device connected is the Xbox one controller.

The clean boot did the trick thanks! Any idea what type of programs could've caused this type of issue?

Thanks for the update.
It's hard to tell, but I would check anything with an overlay, any programs which have any effect on input devices other than KB&M, and/or any programs that manage USB devices.
You can eventually find the conflicting program by the process of elimination, but I'd start with any software that might be included above.

Same exact issue, but clean boot did not resolve the issue for me. Also tried everything else above.

Hi, I'm using an Xbox one Bluetooth controller (latest model and up to date) on my PC and I encounter the same or similar issue and it end up being the batteries dying, you see when the batteries are low the controller turns on and off randomly and this was causing my games to freeze, I hope you have the same issue so it can be fixed with a simple battery change, good luck man.

found this thread because i was researching if i am the only person having this happen. don't play any ea games, but it happens in fallout 4 too. its always the damn batteries about to die. so weird. it didn't used to do that. i assume it is windows 10's fault somehow.
