*Additional Fix for - Game Not Starting/Origin PC - DX 11 & 12
#1.) DX11 and 12 are part of windows so need to go through windows updates

The following is a Primarily PC - Issues and Fixes list based on what I have seen most commonly, recently from trial to early access (11/19/2017 and launch now too :P).

PROBLEMS RESOLVED
PC Restarting Error Issues
Black Screens
Crashing
Error 770
0% Downloading
Direct X 12
Invalid License. Reason Code = Missing DLL: [mfplat.dll] Error: 0x7E
Settings Resetting to Defaults (Origin)
Not Connecting / Not Downloading

-- READ FIRST SECTION / Begin :P --

*Firstly - All windows updates should be installed. Install restart, check for updates and repeat until there is nothing left to install. Same goes for a *Clean install of the latest video card driver.

RE-INSTALLS
Any time you do an uninstall and reinstall, reboot after the uninstall, before you start reinstall. Also, make sure to;
Move the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder from "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II", to the desktop (Uninstall, doesn't remove the folder).
Finally, run the repair tool, after new install completes.

Some people that installed the Trial versions (Not Early Access, but Trial Versions), will need to uninstall completely and reinstall from the now
preload/download link (make sure to remove folder listed above too, the uninstall doesn't remove it).
Additionally, FYi - This will reset your in-game settings.

PROBLEMS: GAME NOT STARTING/NOT DOWNLOADING and/or BLACK SCREENS, CRASHING, ERROR 707
The following is a list of various solutions that fixed various game issues or at least made the game more playable.

1.) Specifically - PC Restarting Issues / Black Screens / Crashing
SOLUTIONS:
1A.) Set run as admin forever and not right click it each time;
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin\Origin.exe right click, properties, compatibility tab, run as admin (select box at bottom)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\STAR WARS Battlefront II\starwarsbattlefrontii.exe right click, properties, compatibility tab, run as admin (select box
at bottom)
1B.) Move the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder from "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II", to the desktop, restart computer and run repair
tool.
1C.) This fix was via Chat Support (It didn't help me, maybe it will help you Standard smile
1.Completely log out and close down Origin
2.Hold down the Windows key and R
3.Type in "%ProgramData%" (without quotes) and click OK
4.Now open the Origin folder.
5.Delete all the files and folders in the Origin folder, except for LocalContent (do not delete this one)
6.Hold down the Windows key and R
7.Type in "%AppData%" (without quotes) and click OK
8.This will take you to a Roaming folder, which is located inside of AppData. Delete the Origin folder
9.Click on the word "AppData" at the top of your window
10.Open the Local folder here
11.Delete the Origin folder listed here
12.Restart your PC and log back into Origin
1D.) ReInstall
Any time you do an uninstall and reinstall, reboot after the uninstall, before you start reinstall. Also, make sure to;
Move the "STAR WARS Battlefront II" folder from "C:\Users\UserName\Documents\STAR WARS Battlefront II", to the desktop.
Finally, run the repair tool, after new install completes.
***
Somebody else had this problem and applied fixes in a specific order was then able to play the game, which they previously hadn't beeb able to.

2.)Specifically Error 770 / 0% Downloading / *maybe crashing or not starting too

FOR Battlefront II Fully downloaded but still says Downloading, Can only play Arcade

This thread: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Battlefront-II-Fully-downloaded-but-still-says-Downloadin...

*There are more than one solutions above, as they identify different services running on windows, causing the issues.

SOLUTIONS:
2A.) Try a clean boot - if that allows the game to launch, then it may be AV/Firewall software not allowing the game to start, and maybe also port forwarding
needs added.

*From the AV/Firewall software, remove the game, reboot and re-add the game/origin to whitelist.

See additional instructions in these posts from

https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Forcing-Restart-of-PC/m-p/6419593#M395
*Connection, Port Forwarding, DNS Flush and Additional Troubleshooting Tips - listed in links at top of post.

2B.) Changing the power setting to high performance in the Windows power options (*I would verify the same settings for your vid card are set via it's control
panel too).

* 0% Downloading - Ongoing thread - https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Stuck-in-INGAME-download/m-p/6424509#M685

3.) DX12 - If applicable, disable, switch to lower DX version.
I am not currently aware of a link to a settings file if you haven't (or are unable to) launched the game yet, I would contact support chat, followed by ask in
forums.

Hi amgio! I have windows 10 home n and the 17900 something version update of window 10 home n totally gave me the invalid license. I did all the steps but nothing assisted with even contacted both EA and microsoft VC support to see if they'd be able to do anything that you haven't said yourself. They were useless of course haha.

I fixed it by reverting to my prior windows 10 home n version. So if even the app doesn't work links don't work for win 10 home n users, the only way I've been able to play again was by reverting my 10 version. Hope this can help other folks and possibly update it to a cleaner instruction for that error Wink

I have an additional fix (for PC) that's not covered in the original post.  Check the OriginClientService_Log.txt file in C:\ProgramData\Origin\Logs for errors and correct them.

First of all, I have been playing the game since late Monday night (when it when live).  Last night (Thursday), it would no-longer start.  I would start the game, but would never get a window displayed, though the game was shown in the task manager.  I followed most of the fixes in the original post, but none worked.  However, while doing those, I found the Origin log files. When I looked in the OriginCLientService_Log.txt, I saw something useful -- an error:

156 [2017-11-17 15:40:04.078] Event Origin::Escalation::IPCServer::newDataAvailable 9964 Received data: DeleteDirectory
C:/ProgramData/Electronic Arts/EA Services/License/1035052_cached.dlf

**157 [2017-11-17 15:40:04.079] Error Origin::Escalation::CommandProcessorWin::deleteDirectory 9964 Failed to delete directory in escalation service, error was: 124

I logged out and quit the Origin client, manually deleted the cached license, restarted origin, and the game booted fine.

I would suggest looking in that log and seeing if you have that same issue.

Re: PC - Star Wars BF 2 - Fixes For Everything! :D

In the Documents > STAR WARS Battlefront II > settings > BootOptions, i was able to get the game to start (instead of a black screen or crashing as I was starting it) with these settings.

GstRender.EnableDx12 1
GstRender.FullscreenEnabled 1
GstRender.FullscreenRefreshRate 60.000000
GstRender.FullscreenScreen 0
GstRender.ResolutionHeight 1080
GstRender.ResolutionWidth 1920
GstRender.WindowBordersEnable 1

I think what did it was having 'WindowBordersEnable set to 1 instead of 0, however if that doesn't fix it in and of itself, try it with all these set to what I posted above.  Best of luck!
