I bought Battlefront II, two days ago and I am experiencing a very annoying issue. So the problem is that no matter what settings I use, i get 60+ fps, but every 5/10 seconds I get a stutter, in which everything stops, but I can still use my camera. It happens on singleplayer (Campaign, Arcade) too.
CPU is not throttling and its frequency is fine
Issue present only in Battlefront II, every other game runs fine
Specs:
Lenovo Y520-15
CPU: I7 7700HQ
GPU: GTX 1060 Max - Q
RAM: 8GB DDR4
HARD DRIVE: 2TB HDD
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Maintance done:
- Turning off Directx12,
- Turning off Origin In-Game,
- Turning off Shader Cache,
- Deleting Shader Cache folder,
- Installing old Nvidia GeForce Drivers,
- Installing the newest version of Nvidia GeForce Drivers,
- Setting Battlefront II priority to High and Above Normal,
- Setting my power plan to High Performance,
- Limiting the CPU use to 99% max in power plan,
- Verifying game files,
- Defragmenting hard drive,
- Disabling fullscreen optimization,
- Using Razer Cortex to disable additional process even the explorer.exe,
- Checking the CPU and GPU temperatures and frequencies,
- Scanning my hard drive (no bad sectors etc...),
- Installing Nvidia GeForce hotfix drivers.
It's really weird and sad I can run Assassin's Creed Oddysey, or Far Cry 5 on very high / ultra with no problems, but I can't run this game without problems
EDIT: I noticed that first match after starting the game loads perfectly fine and runs without any stutters, but any match after it stutters a lot. Also after that first match I experience slower character models loading times in Collection Menu
So reseting the game after every match helps, but it's not the fix that i want

Have you checked to see if DX12 is enabled? If so, turn this off and restart

@OldManSkillsTV This didn't fix my issue sadly. As I said, the first match runs very well, very smooth. But every match after it runs badly

I have the same issue, I think is related with the RAM (8gb) and the HDD. Somehow when the RAM "asks" for more memory because the game uses too much, it borrows that MB from the HDD (that's what a friend of mine, who studies informatics, told me), so the HDD being too slow, using its 100% whenever I play bf2, causes stuttering. The solution could be more RAM or an SSD, which one first? I DONT KNOW :C
But soon a friend of mine with the same pc as yours is going to test the game with 16gb ram; if the stuttering is there then an SSD is the solution. I will let you know the results
I hope I've helped you
(sorry about my english, is not my first language lol)

Hello
Thank you very much
I've also thought that 8gb of RAM may be the problem. My friend who has GTX 1050 Ti, but 16 gb of RAM runs the game without any stutters
Please let me know it works on his computer ^^

I have an SSD aswell as 16GB of RAM; unfortunately I still get occasional stutters.
