Gameplay Updates

  • Tuning
    • Tuned to increase the frequency of Facemask penalties when setting the Strip Ball coach adjustment to Aggressive
    • Tuned to allow QB's a chance to fumble when tackled with a hit stick, even when holding down the Cover-Ball mechanic on RT/R2 – this applies to Competitive and Simulation game styles
    • Tuned to improve the running animation used when a ball carrier makes slight direction changes while holding the Acceleration Burst mechanic
    • Tuned to decrease disengage angles for defenders vs. the run game
      • DEV NOTE: A disengage is different than a block shed and is dictated by the STR rating of the two players involved in the block. By decreasing the angles, defenders will have to wait longer to disengage away from blockers as the ball carrier runs through the line. When looking at game data, we have seen that scoring and yards gained are below our target ranges, which led to this tuning change this applies to all game styles and difficulty levels.
    • Added logic to prevent extremely late Fair Catch calls on kick returns
      • DEV NOTE: When catching on a kick or punt return, there will now be a limited time window open to call for a fair catch. When the window closes, you will see the receiver “Lock” icon inside the player indicator to tell you that a fair catch can no longer be called. This aligns with NFL rules around fair catch calls, and also solves problems when catching the kick with an extremely late fair catch that would interfere with the catch animation.
    • Tuned stamina when holding down the acceleration burst mechanic to better align defensive players with offensive players – this applies to Competitive and Simulation game styles
  • Pass Coverage
    • Improved zone logic for Cover 3 and Cover 4 vs. multiple crossing routes, such as PA Boot Over plays
    • Finished the fix from previous title update so that Cover 3 will correctly cover both the flat and the wheel routes on Fake Screen Wheel plays
    • Fixed an issue causing deep zone players to sometimes not react to deep routes when using Man Up 3 Deep out of the Quarter formation
    • Improved zone logic for Cover 6 and Cover 4 Quarters coverages vs. Trips formations
    • Tuned to decrease the frequency of defenders playing the ball when covering routes well in front of the intended receiver
  • Real Player Motion
    • Addressed an issue causing kick and punt returners to sometimes use different running animations than when they were playing in their regular positions
    • Fixed a rare issue causing players to shuffle and/or run off the field after the end of a play
    • Fixed a rare issue causing the QB to throw a very inaccurate pass either sideways or backwards when throwing a short route to a receiver making a sudden change of direction
    • Fixed an issue causing the QB to sometimes fail to hand the ball to the back on HB Blunt Dive plays
    • Fixed an issue causing the ball to appear in the wrong hand for punters on Safety punts
  • Pre-Play
    • Addressed a rare online exploit being used with custom playbooks that caused the offensive team to leave the field, forcing the defensive user to quit the game and take the loss
      • DEV NOTE: If a user with an existing custom playbook attempts this exploit moving forward, the offensive line will huddle up by the ball and the offensive user will be penalized.
    • Tuned to improve jog animations after huddle breaks
    • Addressed an issue allowing offensive players to reset defensive player's adjustments by using audibles in pre-play
    • Addressed an issue causing defensive linemen to move into each other when using audibles on Field Goal block plays
    • Removed ability to motion the inside TE in the I-Form Wing formation due to targeting issues it would cause that could lead to a fumble
    • Tuned to improve defensive back movement animations when getting set at the line in a press or man coverage position
  • Catching
    • Addressed an issue preventing a catch animation from triggering if the user had Bad Ballhawk Timing on an Interception attempt – now a catch animation will trigger, even if the button is pressed too early, but will still result in a drop
    • Made improvements to animation coverage for fumble recoveries
  • Blocking
    • Tuned to improve pass block targeting for running backs in the backfield
    • Fixed some issues causing blocking fullbacks on toss plays to obstruct the toss and cause a fumble vs. heavy defensive fronts, such as vs. Field Goal block formations
    • Improved logic for pass rush exploits dealing with defenders placed in a coverage or QB Spy assignment who would then quickly rush up the middle of the formation
    • Addressed an exploit around Field Goal blocks
  • NFL Rules
    • Fixed an issue preventing Illegal Block in the Back penalties from triggering in Simulation Game Style


Madden Ultimate Team Updates

  • Added new MUT ability – Route Specialist – which gives receivers unique hot routes based on their position and ratings, such as Post, Corner, Angle, and Stick 'n Nod routes
  • Fixed an issue causing players in MUT equipped with the Situational Pass Rush ability to lose stamina too quickly
  • Fixed an issue preventing the MUT Footsteps ability from applying the proper penalty to receivers on Competitive game style
  • Addressed an issue preventing the MUT Under Pressure ability from applying the proper bonuses
  • Addressed an issue preventing the MUT Out My Way ability from applying the proper bonuses
  • Addressed an issue preventing the MUT Stiff Arm Specialist ability from applying the proper bonuses
  • Addressed an issue preventing WR Off the Line release mechanics (Footfire and Change-Up) from working properly in MUT Squads

All-Madden / All Pro
8 min quarters
Opponent: Console.

Pass Protection is still broken. 
Pulling OL are still lost in space on run blocks.
CB run over OL and TE like they are not even there. 
Pro Bowl OL are being run through like they are not there even when double teaming players who aren't in the same league.
One good DL on a team does not make everybody unstoppable. 

What is with the ball bouncing off receivers who react only after they have been hit with the ball??????????????????????
You said you tuned exaggerated overthrows.  NOT!   Clean pocket.  No pressure.  WR running an in route.   Clears the LB so he can't do a Superman diving swat or int.
In a throwing stance for like 2 seconds.  And still throws the ball 10-20 yds off the mark. 

On the flip side I see the console can still ABUSE 4 verticals by hitting receivers in stride while the defense is totally unaware of the pass until after the catch. 
On the flip side of that the console DB would jump that route with his back turned for a pick 6.   

But this bouncing off the receiver really makes no sense.  

Why is it the receivers always seem to comeback 1-2 yards on crossing routes on key downs?
I'll run my TE on an underneath designed crossing route and he will jump BACK to catch a pass. 
If I LEAD him he will jump back ACROSS the path of the pass to catch the ball and then get tackled and not make the 1st down. 
I've seen it on out routes and in routes as well. 

Console QB can throw intentional grounding passes and it never gets called.   
Console QB can spin and throw on a dime.
Console QB can stop on a dime out of a PA Roll out and throw to avoid sack while gamer's QBs won't. 
Isn't throwing the ball at the back of an OL deserving of a penalty?  Let alone one that turns around and makes the catch. 

LB's are like Superman in the game.  Their dives are exaggerated in distance, speed and change of direction from where they are running. 
LB's dive to swat and int balls, but DBs are just spectators as the ball sails right by their face mask. 

You have wandering players on the huddle break. 
Why did you shorten the time for punts almost not allowing defensive audibles??

YET... you don't seem to offer no huddle or more of a rushed attack like a shortened huddle when the console is down in points.   Why does it have to wait for 2 minutes when down by multiple scores???????
The defense knows to take chances, but the offense doesn't have that awareness. 

When will the commentary KNOW the game is over???
Stop it with the possibility of coming back or making the game interesting or respectful when it is down by 28 points and scores with 30 secs left on he game clock.

Why doesn't the commentary keep up with the speed of the game a gamer plays? 
If I'm running no huddle the game should recognize it and comment accordingly. 

When will you get first downs and touchdowns that just break the plane right?
Way too often the ball breaks the plane with the player NOT DOWN and then maybe pushed back.  
The same with first downs.   It can be seen in instant replay.   The console only reviews ITS touchdowns and not the gamers and rarely have I seen the console TD reversed.

When will you fix the OBVIOUS SLIDING and GLIDING players???? I don't expect perfection, but when a player is running full speed in one direction and in order to catch the ball he moon walks backwards to make the catch that is too much. 

Speaking of which the game doesn't always know when a receiver steps out of bounds and steps back in to make the catch.   The game should recognize it as incomplete and many times it does not. 

Fair catch in the end zone at times still places the ball at the 1 yard line. 

FIX THE BROKEN PLAYS IN THE PLAYBOOK ALREADY!!!!   
How do you BREAK a play when it worked before and upgrading the play was not a focus???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
How is it you can't get the motion plays LINED UP correctly????
Your end around plays ALL.... should have MOTION FROM THE ORIGINAL FORMATION STARTING POINT and SUDDENLY HAVING THE WR IN CLOSE!!!  ACE PAIR as ONE example of many. 

FIX the audible settings to HOLD AS YOU... THE GAMER.... DECIDES... and NOT OVERRULED BY CODE.

Sorry for ALL CAPS, but most of these issues have persisted since M25.    There is no excuse for this. NONE!!!   You  bring in WAY TOO MUCH MONEY to not be able to fix these issues.  

I'm tired of being forced to leave plays out of playbooks because the game keeps resetting my audible to a play I don't want.
My setting should be just that.  NO OVERRIDES.   This is BASIC CODING GUYS/LADIES!!!!

Why are my audibles that show up right when I load my custom playbook for edit DIFFERENT than in the game and different than the pause menu access to edit your audibles???
BASIC CODING.

Why is it in M19 you see MORE than 4 plays highlighted as audibles????  There are only 4 slots and yet at times I've seen SIX plays highlighted. 

Why is it taking so many years to keep plays from going into Hailmary when this is NOT an issue with other groups of formations????
Singleback only has single back plays.   
I Form only has I Form plays.
Shotgun only has Shotgun plays.
Goal line only has Goal line plays.

So why is it you guys have not FIXED this issue yet????  Dating back as far as M25???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
You shouldn't need to focus on just the playbook because that will never happen.   
We should be able to sort the play formations we see fit. The same with the plays in the play formations. 



All of these years mean you DO NOT LISTEN to the community. 
You keep saying that and it sounds good with these long list, but the CORE of the game is game play and each year you guys mess it up. 

This is not everything by any means.  But look how long the limited category of game play has generated along with some playbook or settings issues.

But at what point to do fix something and it stays fixed????
You can't keep leaning on new game engines as an excuse forever.  

Now that the target passing experiment is done, which wasn't needed by the way because you can do it with what you have, you might want to consider bringing back the option for QB to give himself up instead of a sack since it will be so much easier to create QB fumbles. 

You need help?  A consultant to help out with these issues? 
I don't produce wish list because companies profiting off my ideas and me still paying doesn't work in my world.
So let me know. 

In the meantime you have a lot of work to do and you can't ignore the playbook editor for Madden 20.
Game play should always LEAD the list until you get it right.  MUT and all the rest feed off of game play.

The small patch that came out on Xbox One is giving me problems.  I want to avoid deleting and reinstalling.  It took me 14 hours to download the game the first time.  After the small patch, I cannot load up the game.  Is this problem happening for anyone else?  Is there anything I can do to fix it, or do I have to reinstall?

I downloaded the new update today and I have deleted and reinstalled madden 19 4 times for my Xbox one and it still won’t load! Whats the issue and how do I fix it.

I can't create MUT Monster Roster. Keep getting "Our Servers can't process this at this time. Try Again Later" 

 

I can't do  my MUT Monsters now. 

 

 

I even took Friday off of work to do this set.

Since the update on ps4 madden 19 has been freezing after almost every play. Someone needs to fix this problem ASAP. I bought the game off the ps store so there's no disc.

Can't snap the ball...pre-snap menu is stuck.  Again?  Does EA listen to anyone anymore?  Is that why their stock is tanking?
