Number Keys (1, 2, and 3) make my game stutter/freeze

★ Novice

So at any point in the game, even in the main menus, when I use the keys 1, 2, and 3 the game will freeze briefly for a second or two. Doing this after immediately loading into a match will crash the game often. You can imagine this makes gameplay unfun when I try to swap weapon.
I've tried disabling many programs and overlays, unbinding keys, and looking for anything similar on the internet (no results).

Recent changes to my PC and the game include: The update prior to the pacific and a new GPU. I was not having this problem until I upgraded the card and updated the game at the same time.

CPU- Ryzen 5 1600x
GPU- GTX 1660 Ti OC
RAM - 16GB DDR4
MOBO- Gigabyte GA-AB350 Gaming 3

  1. make sure RTX is OFF
  2. Reset bfv graphics configuration to defaults (or delete documents\battlefield v\settings)
  3. try a driver cleaner
  4. update motherboard chipset driver, SSD or NVMe driver and Windows
  5. defragment game drive or trimm of on SSD
  6. disable background applications (virus scanners, mouse software, RGB software, windows update)
  7. try a windows cleanboot
  8. run origin as administrator (right click > run as admin)
  9. try DX11
