Notebook Full-screen problem?

★★ Apprentice

Hey all,

i have particular problem. I wanted to show you video, but Windows itself does not record "volume bar" in game, so i must describe you my problem. Everything went fine, even yesterday when i played a lot i had no issue. Today, when i started game, something weird happened. I noticed screen tearing in menu + when i press +/- volume, volume bar appear, like my game is not in full-screen, but borderless (my volume bar only appeared, when i play on DX12, or tried borderless before, now always). But it can´t be, i checked options, DX12 is disabled and i have fullscreen. So i went to match, and Lord, screen tearing was huge, i cannot play, so i went to options and enabled V-sync. Screen tearing gone, but new problem appear, input lag, very huge input lag. I am sad, because yesterday everything was fine, i played in fullscreen with V-sync OFF and gameplay was smooth, now i have screen tearing always untill i enable v-sync, but it force input lag and see volume bar everytime i press +/-.

I looked on windows update (last update is from 2.1.2019, so it cant be related to update).
I reinstalled both (Intel/ nvidia) drivers, but problem is still there.

What can i do? What do you recommend me to do? Did you ever occur this problem? Thank you for any tip (and sorry for worse english).

I recommend checking your Win10 installation for errors as described here:  https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-r...

WRP found corrupted files and successfully repaired them. Sadly, it did not help me. At least, "unkown" corrupted files are fixed. Btw, i find out, what making my problem. BF5 shortcut or .exe, both have properties. When i go to compatibility tab, there is "disable full screen optimisations" box. So,
1. when the box is empty/ unticked, i have this problem (see volume bar in game and game itself look like in borderless mode),
2. when i check/tick box "disable full screen optimisations", i dont see volume bar in game and dont have screen tearing with v-sync OFF.

Weird is, i always had 1st option active for this game (unchecked full-screen optimisations) and i never had this problem. It started today, i dont know why. I should have be happy, but to be honest, my game felt much smoother, when 1st option worked (until today). Now i tested few mins with 2nd option, that fix my screen tearing/ volume bar in game, but gameplay does not feel smooth to me (feel like more laggy, worse aiming).

Do you know, what might create this problem that 1st option does not work anymore? Or, if it is possible (i hope so), any way to fix it and make my game work on 1st option? Thanks.
