I have given it my email both in game and on the website, and it has been ~2 hours now and I have not gotten an email and until I verify my email I cant even play the game (a terrible way of doing things, but that's a topic of its own) I have had this account since 2013, and restarted the game after a 2 year break. Before I lost all progress I had already verified my email, so does that have anything to do with it?

It took almost 5 hours, but they sent the email.

There is this email validation help guide
No progress should of been lost, ie no loss of characters etc unless all of a sudden you are logged into a different account.
Changing the email being used to one never associated with an EA/Origin/Swtor account will be the best way to test

I used a different email and added them to my safe-sender list and after 1 hour of waiting I have still not received an email.

If your in a position too give CS a call they can resolve the validation issue over the phone
Will refer this thread to Swtor CS for review when they are online.
