I has something similar. I had to update my drivers, perform a clean boot (google EA clean boot), then turn all of my settings down to nothing. Restart the game then try changing the resolution. Anyone who is having issues with crashing and errors should first try to turn all their settings to OFF/LOW and a low resolution. Then start to turn up the quality little by little. I run @ 1920X1080 @ 144hz and can't increase any of the quality settings without the game crashing, so I run everything at lowest just to play. I run an old-ish PC tho.

Im having the exact same issues. My drivers are up to date, my screen is 1920x1080 and i can launch it in 1920x1080 windowed mode. But in game the resolution is 1280x720 and it wont change. If i put it on full screen it simply gives me a smaller window with the 1280x720 resolution. Its ridiculous. I will repair the game later, and then reinstall if nothing changes

Yes this makes me able to launch the game and play it, but It wont allow me to change the resolution in game, and it wont allow me to go into fullscreen. Any solution to that? I have a pretty decent computer and screen that all matches requirements. Frustrating

@Locolind64 Instead of of writing -window try -fullscreen if that wont help try to manually change resolution and to full screen within config file thats located in C:\Users\Your User Name\Saved Games\Respawn\Apex\local. Files name is videoconfig change these lines:
"setting.defaultres" "here put your desired width"
"setting.defaultresheight" "and height"
"setting.fullscreen" "1"

Maybe try to change your overall desktop resolution for a time you play the game.

I get this as well. I've got a 3440 x 1440 (21:9) monitor and I want to drop the resolution to either 2560 x 1440 (16:9) or 2560 x 1080 (21:9) but the only option I get in game is the native resolution at max refresh. I've got a decent gfx card (1070Ti), but it's not up to pushing around 3440 x 1440 pixels in this game at a good framerate. So I want to either keep the 21:9 ratio, but drop a level, or keep the 1440 resolution, but at 16:9 instead of 21:9.
Basically, there's just no option to change in game.
