Hi guys,
so today i just bought a brand new Play Station 4 Pro to get more out of Star Wars Battlefront 2.
But when I downloaded the current updates and the game started I noticed this strange squeeky noise from my disc drive of the PS4 Pro.
Days before on my normal PS4, I have never had this noise and it is so annoying right now! The thing is, it is just happening in Battlefront 2 in different loading screens like after a multiplayer match or before and after a story mode mission.
I have also recorded a video of the issue. Turn on the volume. It basically starts from 13 seconds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeI28xTdy5c
Has anybody else noticed this noise on the PS4 Pro in Battlefront 2? I am just asking here right now, because it is only happening in this game and when it would be a "normal" issue, I would not try to exchange my new PS4 Pro. Cheers guys.
Best regards
Flo

Hey mate,
Is this an issue with just the game or any game, it sounds like an issue with your console if it is making noises and I suspect it is either its hard drive or cd tray/laser

If that's the fan, I have it too.

Have you tried cleaning your console?
If you don't want to void your warranty here is something you could do;

If you don't mind voiding your warranty and want to achieve a full clean;

Give that a try and let me know if it helped! as it sounds as if the PS4 is being ran harder in order to compensate for the game

What you are describing sounds similar to what PC users experience on high end hardware. It sounds like coil whine. It produces a very high pitched squeal that is barely audible, but just enough to catch your attention. My PC does it when under very heavy loads - Mainly from the GPU. It would be quite interesting if these consoles have it... lol

Hey mate,
All consoles have moving parts, they can collect dust quite quickly, I work in a school IRL as an IT tech, some PCs there only got a clean in august and yet a week after I was called out to clean it again as it was overheating.
It all depends on;
- Geographical location
- How active the location is with people
- Pets
- Does food get eaten near or next to the console (crumbs actually get sucked up)
