Need Help - Character Transfer

I purchased the Collector's Edition ages back, and after lapsing for years, I'm interested in re-subscribing.

Unfortunately, EA's server mergers have separated me from my friends, and I'm on the opposite English server as them.

Can anyone assist?  EA Support has told me that the only solution is to pay an additional fee per character to transfer servers, ON TOP OF THE MONTHLY SUBSCRIPTION.

Can anyone help?

Hey unfortunately that would be correct, there was a window available after the merge that provided a discount opportunity for character transfers, however that window closed a long while back now.

characters where moved according to server they where on originally
