NHL 19, Invite Friends

Hello, I’m on Online Versus mode, I press L1 to add friends, I want to Invite Friends (Online Guest), when I press x to select, nothing happens. I’ve never had this problem before. Any suggestions?

Is this still occurring?  There was a company-wide server outage on the weekend, but it has been resolved.
