I can’t go online it says item system synchronization failed

So I was just playing  around with my friends and got off for the night. I have the digital deluxe edition of the game and my brother and I share the game so I got this error I latter tried joining my friend thinking it wouldn’t work but it did! I ended up joining and losing  everything I had 2 cars worth over 100k fully upgraded for my level but I did not de rank so how is it I don’t lose my level but my cars so I deleted the game and done with it I really hope you guys don’t make this mistake and end up finding a to save you progress you deserve for the giving the developers confidence in this game and maybe I could get my stuff for spending over 100$ on the game or a refund anyways good luck

You have to join off someone else’s game for it to work but be warned it will delete all your cars and money but not your campaign and rep progress.

@HoodInfamous Yes that’s what happened to me hopefully they figure out at way to restore my cars and money.

Same here man. Had it twice allready. Calling EA atm. First time from 250k to 3k and now from 1.1 mil to 722k. Sick of this

I had the same issue and built up to 108,000 dollars and  lost it because of the synchronization error

Thank you for your posts here, the relevant teams are working on this issue currently.

Please note, the following relates specifically to just Error Code 40080000 ->

This workaround includes deleting personas from the console so do not proceed if you do not want to do that.

• Keep only the console persona that has been used to purchase the game (deleting the others) and use that persona to reinstall the game. If you have a physical copy on a disc, it does not matter which persona is used to reinstall the game but any other persona need to be removed before reinstalling the game.

i had this same issue. But when I went to manage saved data, then copied the data from my ps4 to my ps plus data storage and restarted my game, the error was gone. Hope this works for you matr
