I was having the same issue. I fixed my issue by opening the in-game Origin overlay using Shift-F1 and then toggling and testing the microphone from within the actual Origin settings. When I did that, the game was able to detect the mic without issues.
I solved mine by doing what someone above said and opening the Origin overlay in game (origin launcher and overlay had different mics selected). I then went to audio settings in the game and clicked 'restore defaults'. I don't know why that worked, as the only settings I had changed in audio had been the lobby volume.
logitech headest. works in origins tester but not in apex.
works everywhere else I tried. cs-go,pubg,discord, etc.
needs to be an in-game microphone setting
same with me, i have a blue snowball and it works everywhere else. they need to have a setting like in most games where you can manually choose your input device and output device
