I was having the same issue. I fixed my issue by opening the in-game Origin overlay using Shift-F1 and then toggling and testing the microphone from within the actual Origin settings. When I did that, the game was able to detect the mic without issues.

Re: Microphone not recognized

I solved mine by doing what someone above said and opening the Origin overlay in game (origin launcher and overlay had different mics selected). I then went to audio settings in the game and clicked 'restore defaults'. I don't know why that worked, as the only settings I had changed in audio had been the lobby volume.

Try this

For those that dont want to link out

Go to

PC Settings > Sound > Scroll down to Input

Select appropriate audio input

May work for some and not others.
