Madden 19 ps4 h2h unplayable LAG

online head to head is absolutely broken and unplayable, lag is horrendous.  Every 2 or 3  seconds the game freezes making it impossible to control runners, complete pass plays on time, choose plays on time, execute field goals etc.  Havent we been down this road before?  What gives?
