Madden 19 Connectivity/Input issues when playing Head-To-Head Online

★★★★★ Novice

Okay for some reason when I play online (Head to Head) my Madden feels like its lagging, maybe a connectivity issue? It's hard to describe. Everything feels slower input wise. Kicking a feild goal or a kick off is nearly impossible because the inputs lag. This doesn't happen to me when I play solo battles only when I play online.

TDLR; I don't think it's an FPS issue but rather a connectivity/input issue.

Is there anyway to check my ping? Do I need to open ports on my router?

Hi there,

This does suggest that the issue may lie with the connection to the router when trying to play this online game mode.

The best course of action is to enable a wired connection to your Console / PC from the router and check the latency before playing a new game.
Lower ping is better (Low : 25-35 ms - High : 120 - 190 ms).

Below you will find our Official EA help - Connection troubleshooting steps for PC and each Console and information on port forwarding.
You may also find third party websites with the ability to test your latency from your browser.

We really hope that this helps.

I appreciate the help and response but I already use a wired ethernet connection. Also under "Madden NFL Football" it only says the ports for Xbox One, PS3/4.

MUT Draft Head 2 Head losing connection

★★★ Newbie

I was playing with my drafted team in a 5-ticket event and through the first three quarters it was pretty laggy. The score was 17-17 and I had the ball going into the fourth when all of a sudden it said the opponent lost connection. Once I got back to the menus it completely froze and I had to restart the game. I went back into MUT Draft and it said I lost and I didn't even get any of the rewards. Anyone else have this problem????? Anyone get a refund of tickets??

Happens to me sometimes as well. I’ve noticed a pattern because it happens in crucial games for me. I think it’s intentional lag by EA. I lose those games the most because of bad field goal kicks bad punts that give the opponent great field position. I can’t make adjustments properly and buttons do not respond. Usually starts once I get to the playoffs. I have a wired connection. The last opponent I played had a stacked team so I know they could afford a decent connection. It was a guaranteed loss for me and my opponent seemed completely unaffected by the lag.
