I play at high settings which give me 70-90 fps which is fine but when there are a lot of players in the vicinity/on screen(which is almost all the time in this game)my fps drops to 40-60 fps even when I put everything on low(I haven't tested this in depth, just what I observed when I paid closer attention to the issue) I tried searching for my specific issue on the internet but nothing I did really did anything.I think the map doesn't matter because I played on Galicia, which is not a dense map like Amiens or Fort de Vaux and have the same issue.I want to say that around half a year ago this wasn't a problem(not sure).
These are my specs:
CPU-I5 6600K
GPU-1060 6gb
Memory-16gb ram

Hey @AlexFelix15,
Sorry to hear about this issue you're experiencing.
Have you tried any steps to resolve this?
1. Turn off Origin in-game Overlay in Origin, and the Battlefield 1 Game Properties in Origin
2. Check your Frame Rate Limiter settings in game, in the Graphics/Video settings and make sure it's set to 60 or 120, instead of Unlimited.
3. Clean Boot:

4. Connection Troubleshooting:

Try these steps, and let us know if you see any improvements.
Thanks

I did and nothing,I noticed that after a few game restarts the game runs fine at a stable 70-90 FPS.I was thinking about selling my CPU because it's kinda old and games are getting more and more complex. Thanks for the reply.

Hey @AlexFelix15,
Thanks for the heads up.
And yes, unfortunately Battlefield 1 is a very CPU intensive game, and the usage will be around 98-100% almost the entire time.
So, if applicable, I would try to upgrade like you said.
If you're planning on getting Battlefield V, I would go based off what the Minimum/Maximum settings are for that game as well.
Hopefully everything works out for you

Your CPU is definitely the root cause because it's the bare minimum CPU required to play BF1 and BF1 is a hugely CPU intensive game.
