Lost Retired Sim

★★ Novice
So I retired two of my sims (first generation), and gone through the elder/mentor events until it told me to move them out (I had no choice). Their child (now a playable sim) has a relationship with them, so they exist in the social menu. Even after moving them out, for a while I was able to interact with them. But now, whenever I open the menu, the ‘socialise’ button is greyed out so I can’t call them over/go to them. It has been like that for several days. I can’t find them walking around town either. Is this a glitch or did they like... die or something?

Re: Lost Retired Sim

They don't really die, they just leave the game. You get this message when they leave the game:

After that you shouldn't be able to contact them any more, which you're seeing right now.

Ah okay, that you! I didn’t realise they were leaving the whole game! I just thought they’d stop hanging around my house! Thanks for the info! Standard smile

There is a difference if they retire and if you kick them out.  If they retire, they stay in your family portrait (in the past generations tab) but don't hang around town.  If you kick them out, you might still see them around town but they are no longer in your family portrait.
