Lose Picture If I Edit Game Settings [ Edited ]

Recently brought Need For Speed Payback it was working fine no issues but when i try to change any of the settings in options such as difficulty, audio, subtitles, graphics etc and save it my monitor goes black saying there's no picture until i tab out of the game then my picture comes back but clicking on the game again makes my monitor go black saying no picture, only way i got game working again was to delete profile options file, wondering if there was way to fix this so that i can change the options and save it without it losing picture.
