Lagging

I'm having trouble with lag during battles over the past week. I thought at 1st it was my connection or a problem with memory on my iPad but after testing my connection on multiple devices and making sure I had enough memory free to run the game it is still doing it. It does it about 75% of the time and lags very badly for about 1 minute at the start of each battle. Can anyone help with this issur? Thanks!
