Ingame Joystick problem

Hi,

Is it possible to disable the ingame joystick/ controller auto identification (if that is what you call it).

Basically when i load the game it picks up my joystick and my character goes nuts looking all over the place. Un-plugging my joystick rectifies this and allows normal play. However the problem I have is the fingers in my left hand are paralysed so i usually play fps games with my joystick mapped to WASD.

Is there a way of disabling the ingame joystick/ controller identification?
