Huge update size

I downloaded the 797mb update for battlefield V however during the download it ended up taking up 18 gigs on my SSD until the game is done patching when it then goes back to near the previous size. Previous updates that were larger have been even worse in that they are around 4 to 5 times the size of the original update. This is sometimes a problem as I've left around 20 gigs of space for battlefield V for updates and the game regularly blows right through that and I end up having to reinstall the whole game which is a smaller size for some reason. Anyone else experiencing this?

@ElliotLH Thanks for the reply, I guess I will just have to free up extra space or put it on a bigger drive.

I have 63 Gt free space and Origin says i' cant download update, because not enough space left..
Now i started verifying files manually and it started download 32.64 Gt (not verifying). Thanks a lot origin...
