High ping on South African severs and disconnect randomly from EA servers!?!?

★★ Novice

Would like to bring this under the community attention that BF V South African servers is horrible and most likely the worst there is. Where do i start with the high ping even though it shows 29ms in the search for servers but as soon as you start playing bang over 450 ping for bloody reason at all. Did a speed test all is fine with my internet did all their fancy manchy troubleshooting that they provide on their web page nothing works not even one bit to top it all off now all of the sudden after doing their troubleshooting or should i call it ( worst shooting) now i randomly lose connection to the EA servers and that just after one minute in a match. This is unacceptable i really hope EA fixes this issue. Or this whole game was just another TIME, DATA AND HARD DRIVE SPACE WASTED AND FOR WHAT A GAME THAT DOES NOT RUN PROPERLY

@Ornyx_ZA Have you done all this....

Disable Origin in game:
In Origin - Application settings - Origin in Game - disable Origin in game

Origin Cloud Storage turn it off
Origin, settings, General

And just to be 100% sure its not from your net end at all do this please....

1- turn off PC

2- Unplug power from modem and router if you have both

3- Leave it unplugged 10 min no less

4- If you have both modem and router then ... After 10 min plug modem back in let it fully boot up. Then plug in router and let it fully boot up.

5- Then turn on PC and see if it helps your ping at all.

If all fails to help try steps below...

Flush your DNS
Your system keeps a record of IP addresses and domain names for the servers you access. Sometimes it helps to clear old data from this cache and start fresh. It's extra important to try this if you've had any problems with your hard drive or if you have had a virus or malware infection on your PC.

NOTE: Complete these steps using an admin account. You will be typing prompts into the CMD console, so it is very important that you enter the commands exactly as shown.

The following steps are specific to PC users. Apple has instructions on resetting your DNS cache for Mac.

Windows 10

Hold down the Windows Key and press X.
Click Command Prompt (Admin).
When the command prompt opens, type ipconfig/flushdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Reboot your computer.
Windows 8

Navigate to the desktop.
Hold down the Windows key and press R. (this will open the Run dialogue).
Type cmd and press Enter (this will open a command prompt).
Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Reboot the computer.
Windows 7

Hold down the Windows key and press R (this will open the Run dialogue).
Windows Vista

Hold down the Windows key and press R. (this will open the Run dialogue),
Type cmd and press Enter (this will open a command prompt).
Type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /registerdns and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
Type ipconfig /renew and press Enter.
Type netsh winsock reset and press Enter.
Reboot the computer.
Setting an alternate DNS
While a DNS refresh might solve your connection problems, the DNS itself could potentially not be working as intended, and connection issues will continue no matter how many times you flush your DNS cache.

You can check if you DNS is failing by trying to switch to a public DNS like Google DNS. Follow these steps from developers.google.com to set that up.

Google DNS might actually be slower than your normal DNS, but is useful to test and see if your connection problems are coming from your local DNS.

Once you flush your DNS cache, try connecting to your game again.

If flushing your DNS does not clear up the problem, try resetting your hosts file. That can also help with some connection issues — especially if they came from malware infections.

Try a clean boot
Clean booting cuts down the number of applications that run when you start your computer. This step is very helpful if any other programs on your system are clashing with Origin and causing problems.

If you're running Windows 10, follow these steps to clean boot:

Open the Start menu and search for msconfig.
Click on System Configuration.
Click the Services tab.
Check the box to Hide all Microsoft Services, then click the Disable All button.
Click on the Startup tab, then click on Open Task Manager.
It can take a few seconds for the Task Manager list to load.
Click each of the Startup programs in the list then click the Disable button.
Close the Task Manager window.
Click OK on the System Configuration window to save your changes, then restart your computer.
Once you restart your computer, try launching your game again.

Follow the Microsoft instructions for performing a clean boot in Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1.

Close background applications
If your game now updates and connects, your computer might be running a program at start up that conflicts with Origin.

Close background applications or programs and see if you can get your games and Origin running smoothly.

Re: High ping on South African severs and disconnect randomly from EA servers!?!

★★★ Newbie

Majority of the problems are our distance away from the main servers unfortunately, For this problem i do believe ISP Cool ideas connects to backbone they have connection via new Fibre cable direct to america this reducing ping a bit they are the best for gaming online especially sa servers i do belive i get around 2ms to 5ms ping without resetting anything never had an issue i do work for a fibre company in SA even if you only have Openserve fibre they are still a good isp on it, better if your on SADV, Vumatel , Access point ETC but this is more so for download speeds telkom use splitter systems 1GB Fibre cable into 64 Splitter Divide that bandwidth , weather Vumatel do not they go direct fibre from server the rest might but the bandwidth throughput is better cause less splitting is involved and do allocate splitters accordingly and if their are issues they do  maintain and upgrade accordingly. EA Themselves Server is not in SA
