Also got similar issues.

CPU gets eaten up to 100%. I had temp issues hitting 100C but after installing a new cpu cooler, CPU still gets eaten up 100%, but my temps are bellow 75C.

My frames rates are good (low-high don't see much difference in them) but CPU usage is still at 100.

Hi there, similar issue.

CPU i7-4710HQ Overclocked to 3.7GHz

GPU GTX1080

Ram 16GB DDR3

In max setting, objects and world takes a long time to load, makes some enemies "invisible"

In medium setting, still has some delay, but seems reduced compare to max setting

So since having all the issues with the HIgh CPU and GPU usage here are a few things iv managed to do to bring the CPU down a little bit, better than 100% but still quite high and the game is somewhat playable now, still need to hope that they bring out a fix with the day 1 patch in 3 days.

Display Settings

Full Screen Mode: Borderless

Vertical Sync: Off

Graphics Settings

Motion Blur: Off

Depth of Field: Off

Chromatic Aberration: Off

Finally, I see some light at the end of the tunnel. I have never seen my CPU drop below 100% when I was running this game. Not in active scenes, nor in loading screens, nor in settings. Changes to the Advance graphics settings didn't have any effect before. CPU stayed capped even on low quality settings. After making following changes, the average utilization of CPU came down from 85-90% to 65-70%. Also, very important observations. Some changes do not take effect immediately. I had to restarted my game even if it hadn't suggested that.

EDIT: (You don't need this if Original workaround below helps, so try that first)

This thing is like a lizard. Today I tried to reinstall the NVIDIA driver from 418.81 to 418.91. And what do you know, the issue had returned without me changing anything in the game since the time it worked. At first I thought it was a driver. Tried many things. So, the sequence might be important, but the final state didn't change a bit. So, seems like a shamanic dance. So, what I did is following:

Changed back to Full screen and V-SYNC off. Restarted game. Didn't help

Changed to Bordeless V-SUNC off. Restarted game. Didn't help

In NVIDIA control panel set to use emphasizing Performance. Restarted game. Didn't help

In NVIDIA control panel set to use advanced settings. I don't know why or if these are important since I'm not using this in the end, but here are the values:

nvid_profile.png

Restarted the game. Didn't help.

In NVIDIA control panel changed back to "Let the 3D application decide", and in game set Borderless and V-SYNC on. Restarted the game. Didn't help.

At this point I got desperate and restarted the comp. And after this the workaround worked again.

I didn't change anything at all in the end. Just a lot of seemingly meaningless movement.

Original workaround:

So, what slightly alleviated the issue for me is this combination:

Mode: Borderless

V-Sync: On

I further was able to improve things by disabling the three settings mentioned in the above post. Also, I have tried NVIDIA settings, but it didn't provide any noticeable changes. Here are these comparisons. I followed a simple route in the Fort Tarsis and the tests were done on graphics quality: Low

Just the 5 in-game settings:

borderless_vsync_on.png

+NVIDIA performance profile:

borderless_vsync_on_nvid_perf.png

+NVIDIA custom profile

borderless_vsync_on_nvid_cust.png

For comparison here is my CPU before these changes:

Same here, I have pretty much the same setup as you as well.  I5 6600k 24 gb ram and a 1070ti.  no matter what settings I use the frames are always the same and always suck.

Ok so after the last 4 days of talking with EA about this CPU and GPU Issue myself and many of you have been experiencing, i have tried everything EA have told me try, including full uninstall of Anthem and Origin and re-installing, Clearing DNS, submitting DxDiag and MsConfig reports and also waiting for the Day 1 Patch which has done nothing to sort this issue out i got an email from one of the specialist advisers,

My Email to Specialist Adviser:

I'm just wondering if you have found a solution yet to my issue that i reported on the 16th February in regards to High CPU and GPU Usage while playing Anthem, I have tried getting in touch with people from BioWare over social media but no one has replied. I have also posted in the EA Forums in regards to this issue but still no response from any of the Developer's. I would really like this issue to be looked into as it's not just me that is experiencing this problem there are many other player's who feel they exceed the Minimum System Requirements to play Anthem but are not able to enjoy the game because of this issue. Here is a link to the post on the EA Forum, if someone from EA or BioWare could respond to let people know how to resolve this issue or if this is going to be fixed soon because if not a lot of the player base will end up leaving Anthem to play other game titles. I look forward to your response on this matter.

Their Reply:

Hello ,

Thank you for the reply, your interest in helping the community grow and the furthered interested in the stability of the game.

I did submit feedback to the game studio. That is the extent of as far as the case will go. As far as the forums go, developers do not reply to forum posts normally.

As a result, the case will not receive further attention other than what information that I have already delivered.

So basically they have no idea why we are having this issue or how to fix, and with none of the Developers replying over social media i guess we are just going to have to suffer over a game that many of us have been excited to play, i just hope this message was passed from EA to BioWare and that the Developers can shed some light on how to fix this as i now know its not my PC as i ran Battlefield V on Ultra at 1440p 144Hz with no frame drops and CPU usage was less this 50% so this has got to be poor optimisation from BioWare and hopefully we can get this resolved soon before people get put off playing Anthem and move to better more playable games.

I'm sure they are tracking high CPU usage issues. But probably they didn't find a good solution. If it is not a bug, then they have some optimization to do, which is not a simple or quick task.

Changing settings have very little or no impact on CPU usage or FPS from what I can tell.

Yeah it is really weird. I even went as far as turning my resolution down to the 700s, settings to low. Same fps. Makes no sense what so ever.
