HELP - Why can't I use my 175 simcash to unlock the 3rd sim???

I reached 175 simcash but the game doesn't let me buy the 3rd sim slot and it keeps saying I'm forced to complete le roomate race before. Why??

If it's written you can unlock it with 175 simcash, why I can't use them? 

I know with the roomate race quest I have the 3rd slot for free but I don't want to do it cause it's 3 times I failed to complete it, it's so long. 

So why I can't use my simcash? Is it a sort of bug??

@Geeky26 Is the roommate race quest active on your quests tab? If it is, please wait until the quest disappears and try again to purchase the third Sim slot.

It must expire to disappear? @SalixCat

@Geeky26 Yes, you need to wait until it expires. The quest will disappear and you will be able to purchase the third Sim slot.
