apologies, must have missed your first reply there.
Could you try to turn off cloud saves in Origin? That should be in Origin -> Application Settings -> Installation and Saves.
Then go to C:\Users\username\Documents\Battlefield 1\ and rename the settings folder or move it to another location to back it up.
If that should fail to work, did you already try to run the BF1.exe as admin as well as deactivating your antivirus software and firewall just for the launch of the game?
I'm also having this problem after the latest BF1 patch. I tried giving my user read and write access (not sure if I did this right) but it didnt fix it.
I checked the logs and it says the license isn't stored locally. It also does this for my fifa 18.
